The Cross

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” John 10:14-18

We choose today to start this disciple ministry.
As a lost and found sheep, we have prepared this before Easter 2024.
Jesus said “All authority in heaven and on earth had been given to me”.
We could only imagine that our Lord looked at the face of the death and rebuked him.

In the same way, He rebuked the wind, the wave, the devil, the evil spirits and the demons.
Who else could claim that with this kind of authority? We found no one else in human history.
The principality that we cannot see with our eyes obeys Jesus.

The Legion of evil spirits that most are afraid to talk about had to beg Jesus to allow them to go out to the 2,000 pigs!
But this is not what we want to talk about for this special day.

We want to talk about Love.

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8 (NIV)

Paul was a lost and found sheep like us. Paul understood the power of laying down one’s life because of Love.
When someone is willing to do that and has that kind of Love, the sky opens, and the enemies stay far back because they are scared.
Even the devil is trying to preserve his own life, and it is uncomprehensive for him.

“In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in Darkness; and the Darkness comprehended it not.”
John 1:4-5 (KJVAE)
“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the Darkness, and the Darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:4-5 (NIV)

The note of NIV also translates as “understood” instead of “overcome”.
The Darkness has not figured out and will never figure out Love. One can truly understand one if they are on the same page. One can understand peace if there is peace in one. One can never understand the power of Love if there is no Love in one.
Sometimes, we feel exhausted and resentful because we don’t receive any return from our love.
The truth is, we cannot give $20 to someone if we don’t have it. We could have only given out a counterfeit bank note!
We cannot give Unconditional Love if we don’t have it in us.
But we can choose to go back to the foot of the Cross and look up to the One who died for us while we were sinners.
Ask for Unconditional Love to give. He is faithful and will honor the prayers with the right motive.
We are the witnesses of many miracles because of Unconditional Love.
Let’s start this journey together, and may our Lord bless us so we may love and expect nothing in return.
