The Chosen II

“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” Matthew 24:5 (NKJV)

We alerted you about the seriousness of watching The Chosen TV Series. We have learned that many followers of The Chosen are seeing the face of the actor who portrays our Lord during their prayers. Some would say they don’t care because The Chosen brought them back to the church or read the Bible more. Online data shows The Chosen TV series has been viewed by over 450 million people worldwide. The show’s producers aimed for it to be seen by over one billion people. They have raised a lot of money through crowdfunding and donations. They have become a cult in which all members are eager to see what their fake lord and fake disciples will say and do in the new season based on the cult leaders’ scripts.

Why did our Lord Jesus mention the deceitfulness when someone portrays Him and says I’m Christ?

We believe that this deceit will have serious consequences, which may lead people away from our Lord. How many people do you know have been deceived by the pastors in their church and stopped going to church? Deception by a pastor can lead people to leave a church. Pastors who engage in deceitful practices can cause massive harm to the congregation. The term “pastor in the pulpit” refers to the role of a pastor as a preacher and spiritual leader with integrity, ministry of the word, and biblical convictions. We don’t have statistics on how many people were affected by Ravi Zacharias’s hidden private life. He caused lots of damage to his ministry, congregation, and Christians who followed him online. He did not just ruin his ministry’s reputation and hurt his family but also brought disgrace to our Lord.

Almost everyone knows that pretending to be someone you are not is deceitful. This deception can lead to confusion and mistrust for the individual whose identity is being falsely portrayed. Imagine that this actor who portrays our Lord in The Chosen TV Series has been deeply embedded into many believers’ prayer life through Mentalism Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) techniques. This actor’s face comes up every time you pray to Lord Jesus, and when you think about Jesus, Jonathan Roumie shows up uninvited.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. Romans 3:23

“As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.” Romans 3:10-11

We are not saying that Jonathan Roumie or the director, Dallas Jenkins, are bad people. We don’t know them. We only know that they are in the entertainment business seeking money and fame, and they are even more famous than Ravi Zacharias. What will happen if the hidden life of Jonathan Roumie or Dallas Jenkins comes to light? What will happen to the prayer life and the faith of millions of The Chosen fans? I don’t have the answer. But one thing I know, our Father in Heaven will not let this go on for long.

“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.” Luke 8:17-18 (NIV)
