The Search Is Over

“At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:10-14 (NIV)

A prophet is regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God in the Bible. Many of these prophets are in the Old Testament: Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Elijah, Daniel, Isaiah, Hosea and more. They received God’s messages to share with whoever they were told to share. They were used by God for a purpose and a period of time. When it came to the time of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord said:

“The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing their way into it. It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.” Luke 16:16-17 (NIV)

Our Lord said the Law and the Prophets were proclaimed in the Old Testament era until John the Baptist. John the Baptist was the last prophet until the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord was not a prophet, God humbled Himself and became one of us 2,000 years ago.

“Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit. And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another. Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them. Then last of all he sent his Son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ But when the vinedressers saw the Son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’ 39 So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him.” Matthew 21:33-43 (NKJV)

The Good Landlord sent the last one, His Son. After the Son, there was no need to send any more servants. No one has seen the Father but the Son. The Son is the representation of the Father, and He has shown the Father to the world because They are One. The Son set everything new, and the old way of Law has passed. New wine for the new wineskin! No more prophets were needed in the New Covenant era; that’s our time in the Bible. God came down and taught us everything we needed to know to be with Him forever. Then He went to the Cross for you and me.

Does anyone need more prophesies than what is written in the Bible? We are people in the Biblical time and will go through the Great Tribulation described by the book of Revelation. I think what is written in Revelation is good enough to scare anyone who claims to follow our Lord but continues in their sins. Therefore, if anyone comes to you and says that they are prophets and bring prophecies from God to share with you, including the self-anointed politicians using our Lord’s name for their gain, they are either false prophets or our Lord Jesus Christ is a liar.

We can only believe one or the other.

Search no more; we have only one teacher, and He is our Lord and Savior. Our Lord Jesus Christ needs no introduction from others. He is there for you 24/7; you can talk to Him 10 times daily without intermediaries. All good things come from above; no earthly person can give you what you need. Our Lord can give you the faith, hope, and love you need. Paul said that love is the most important thing, and we agree. Love can also bring suffering, look at the Cross. But that kind of suffering will only make you stronger. Ask Him to teach you how to love and expect nothing in return.

The search is over. Trust our Lord Jesus Christ like the oxygen in the air. If you do that, you have entered the sheep pen, the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. You may find Him in everything you do.
