A Prayer To Seek The Truth

^“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.  I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:15-19 (NIV)

We discussed this letter sent to the church in Laodicea in Daily Cross: “Complacency Kills.” I have been thinking about it, and I missed one thing. We need a countermeasure, not just a call to action. Without the help of our Lord, we often don’t know what to do because the flesh is weak. Remember that everything good comes from above. Here is a prayer to seek truth and to follow the truth. It has helped me, and I hope it can help you, too.

“Dear Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus Christ,

Thank you for your love and mercy.

I have been deceived by the enemy, the father of lies, and my heart is deceitful by so much noise, lies and distractions that the world puts in front of me every day.  

I want to know the truth, speak the truth and stand for the truth for You. Give me salves for my eyes so I can see what You see. Remove all the fears the enemy has tricked me into believing. I renounce all those lies. I belong to You, Lord Jesus Christ; the enemy cannot touch me.
