I Will Always Do What You Say

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” Luke 6:46-49 (NIV)

How is your journey so far?

Our Lord promised peace and love on this journey. One condition is to be patient and trust Him more than we trust ourselves. This journey is against flesh and deceitful hearts. The road may narrow when you realize it, and there is solitude. There is a saying that Saints walk alone. Saints are disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ like you and me. You may find yourself alone sometimes, but you are never truly alone.

Our Lord is about repentance for the forgiveness of sins. I have seen many heart changes that lead to peace, joy, and unconditional love. The disciples on the narrow road often have some characteristics. Some are noticeable from the outside, some are hidden, and I’m sure our Lord can see them. They all trust and obey our Lord with total dependency as if their lives depended on it. They become a house built with a foundation on rock. Without our Lord and Savior, it is like the oxygen has been removed from the air.

More people have joined the Daily Cross. I thought it would be beneficial to share this again. Here is a checklist for those walking on this narrow road toward the small gate. These characteristics are by-products of trust and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ:

1.           An increased tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen

2.           Frequent attacks of smiling and showing kindness

3.           Feelings of being connected with others and nature

4.           Frequent overwhelming episodes of appreciation

5.           A tendency to think and act based on our Lord’s commands rather than from fears

6.           An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment

7.           A loss of ability to worry and trust God more than we trust ourselves

8.           A loss of interest in conflict and putting others above ourselves

9.           A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others and forgiving daily

10.         A loss of interest in judging others and being humble naturally

11.         A loss of interest in judging self and no more unwholesome talk

12.         Gaining the ability to love and expect nothing in return.

May our Lord guide you to walk by faith and continue to store the heavenly treasure until His return.
