Making Every Effort to Enter The Rest – Reminder

“Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it ..….. but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed…….”So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’” And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world. For somewhere, he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day, God rested from all his works.” And again, in the passage above He says, “They shall never enter my rest…. for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.” Hebrews 4:1-10 (NIV)

There were six workdays during the creation, and God rested on the seventh day. In my early walk, I couldn’t understand this chapter in Hebrews. What does it mean to enter the rest with God? Haven’t we passed the seventh day of God’s rest from creation?

According to the genealogy data from the Bible, it took around 2,000 years from Adam to Abraham and 2,000 years from Abraham to our Lord’s first coming. Our Lord’s return will mark 2,000 years after He left to be with the Father. Therefore, there are 6,000 years between Adam and our Lord’s return.

6,000 years on earth equals only six days for God.

“I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:4-6 (NIV)

Therefore, the seventh day of one thousand years of rest will start upon the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is the first resurrection. Some will not enter the thousand years of rest with our Lord if they have received the mark. But all dead shall come to life on the day of judgement when the thousand years end. I won’t judge those who do not know our Lord Jesus Christ because their punishment will be minor regarding our Lord. I’m sad only for those who claim to be the followers of our Lord Jesus Christ but hold greed, lust, pride, ego, resentment, sexual immorality and hypocrisy. I don’t think making every effort to enter the rest on the seventh day is on their list because the comfort of the flesh is the top priority. Perhaps they think their salvation is secured.

Can you imagine living with our Lord in the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth for 1,000 years with peace and love?

As a lost and found sheep, I found the hidden treasure and the perfect pearl. I followed His voice and entered the gate of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. I can now come in and go out to find green pasture and enjoy the peace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our mission is to help you to walk as a disciple of our Lord so you can hear His voice and come into the gate, and we will all be One. Once you enter the gate, you will see the truth, and all doubt will disappear.

Do I want to live one day without our Lord Jesus Christ?

No, I don’t.

Do I want to live a thousand years with our Lord Jesus Christ?

Yes. I do.

I don’t know about you, but when we walk by faith and not by sight, we have started living the promised thousand years already.
