Midweek Prayer – Seeking Truth

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.  I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:15-19 (NIV)

Not long ago, we started offering midweek prayers in the Daily Cross. These prayers are often related to the subjects we discussed. Yesterday, we discussed the Heavenly Treasure and the deceitfulness the world wants us to see. It is okay if you think you have been deceived. We all have been in that place. Since everything good comes from the above, here is a reminder of a prayer to seek and follow the truth. It has helped me, and I hope it can help you, too.

“Dear Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus Christ,

Thank you for your love and mercy.

I have been deceived by the enemy, the father of lies, and my heart is deceitful by so much noise, lies and distractions that the world puts in front of me every day.

I want to know the truth, speak the truth and stand for the truth for You.

Give me salves for my eyes so I can see what You see.

Remove all the fears the enemy has tricked me into believing.

I renounce all those lies.

I belong to You, Lord Jesus Christ; the enemy cannot touch me.

In the name of my Lord Jesus Christ,

Amen
