Believe This And That – Reminder

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)

The Gospel is all about repentance for the forgiveness of sins. I thought of using the momentum to encourage you to take on the challenge of discipleship training posted yesterday. This journey on the Narrow Road is often challenging because our hearts have been deceitful since the beginning. But I have witnessed many heart changes that lead to peace, joy, and unconditional love on this journey. Those who walk on the Narrow Road often carry some signs. Some of these signs are visible from the outside; some are hidden, and only our Lord can see them. These signs are the by-product of trust and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ. Some call them lights. I hope this checklist will encourage you to continue walking on the Narrow Road because the final reward will be great. This is a reminder.

These signs are:

1.           An increased tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen

2.           Frequent attacks of smiling and showing kindness

3.           Feelings of being connected with others and nature

4.           Frequent overwhelming episodes of appreciation and compassion

5.           A tendency to think and act based on our Lord’s commands rather than from fears

6.           An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment

7.           A loss of ability to worry and trust God more than we trust ourselves

8.           A loss of interest in conflict and putting others above ourselves

9.           A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others and forgiving daily

10.         A loss of interest in judging others and being humble naturally

11.         A loss of interest in judging self

12.         Gaining the ability to love and expect nothing in return.

Enjoy your journey with our Lord.
