Do Not Share In The Sins Of Others

“When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.” Matthew 12:43-45 (NIV)

If it can happen to a person who was set free from an evil spirit but later became worse than before, it can happen to a group of people, a neighbourhood, a city, a state or a province, or even a country. Our Lord went further with “generation,” which refers to the whole world.

How wicked is our current generation?

I researched the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. The Book of Jasher offers some good information. Although it is not part of the canonical scriptures, it is referenced twice in the Old Testament, in Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18. The Book of Jasher has a good reference value. I would say Sodom and Gomorrah cannot even compare with our current generation. It is a level of a high school student compared to a Master’s degree.

Have you wondered why an impure spirit would want to come out of a person?

Before the New Covenant, there was no such thing as casting out evil spirits in the Old Testament. As our Lord said, He came so the prince of this world would be driven out. Throughout our Lord’s ministry on earth, the evil spirits were cast out by our Lord directly or His disciples using His authority. Otherwise, none of these minions would want to come out. All evil spirits need a host. They would gladly stay with someone forever.

I have witnessed many miracles with the deliverance ministry. In many cases, only one deliverance session is not enough. It requires follow-up. The prince of this world and his minions do not give up that easily. It is often a battle and a journey. You may think that so many evil things are happening in our generation that there must be a monthly quota for all the enemy’s minions. Yes. They also know the appointed time is near and are desperate to reduce the number of faithful.

Most churches no longer believe in deliverance or healing ministry. They are complacent and often seek the number and comfort as the top priority. Most preach not what they do. They think that as long as they believe in the Son, there is no need to repent for the forgiveness of sins. All Christians will be taken during the Rapture to spare from suffering. I found no such thing as the Rapture in the Bible. I believe those are lies from the enemy, so there can be as many goats as possible when the time comes. This warning is described by the church in Laodicea in Revelation 3:16: “So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16 (NIV)

I think that many churches may have tried the deliverance and healing ministries, but they have not worked, so they have given up. No one likes to be looked at as having little faith. Many believe that a baptized Christian can automatically receive the Holy Spirit. That’s not what I have experienced and seen. Nothing is guaranteed until one can deny oneself and pick up the cross to follow our Lord on the Narrow Road. Our Lord will reward you with the Holy Spirit once He decides the time and place. We cannot order it on demand through a ceremony or pretend about it. It is never about the membership but discipleship.

We watched many preachers fall from grace due to lust, pride, power and money. They were all baptized, idolized on a pedestal, and still, the enemy had them. No one believed they were hypocrites at the time, and they all hid it very well. They were like the Pharisees in our Lord’s time. They couldn’t do the same ministries our Lord did 2,000 years ago because our Lord also said:

“Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Matthew 12:25-28 (NIV)

In Daily Cross, we want to offer a call to action or a countermeasure to help you in your discipleship journey. If we stay vigilant and follow our Lord’s teachings, the enemy has much less chance of confusing us. Apostle Paul knew this very well and said the following:

“Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.” 1 Timothy 5:22 (NIV)

Christians are quick to lay their hands on people for prayers and receive prayers by laying on hands. Avoid them if you do not know them well. You don’t want anyone lingering with sins to lay their hand on you to share their sins through the unseen realm. Some may say that this is supernatural stuff, and as Christians, they don’t believe that. So, you know, I also don’t believe in supernatural stuff invented by people like UFO. I only believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and everything in the Bible.
